Angie and I are very proud of our handpicked staff of Whitlow Smoke
School Nation team members. They love smoke school and they love working
with people to provide you with the very best in customer service. Whitlow Smoke School Nation is family owned and operated by Big George and Sweet Angie Whitlow. Angie is our business manager and she is blessed with the task of interviewing and selecting employees as well as running the office. She insures that customer service starts when you call or email us and continues through the training, certification, and help with any problems you run into down the line. Angie and I travel to most school locations with Crew 1. We perform our shows as a husband and wife team. I was born on the bayou in Monroe, Louisiana and I am an Air Force Environmental Health Veteran, Retired Louisiana DEQ Inspector and smoke school provider. Angie is an Illinois corn farm raised girl. She was the manager of hospital respiratory care clinics for 30 years in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. The Whitlow Team office staff and Crew 1 based in West Monroe, Louisiana. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce the latest team member of our staff. Raymond Guillaume. Raymond is the crew chief for Team One. Rain Man operates the smoke machine and he is a classroom instructor. Rain Man is a 24 karat Cajun from the bayou swamp town of Zachary, Louisiana. Raymond and I have been pals for 30 years. Rain Man built my very first computer out of old beer cans back in 1998. He had to come into my office and turn the thing on for me. I tried to type on it but nothing would come up. Rain man said you have to click it with your mouse. "What?" Just click on the icon. "What?" One day I typed 500 names on smoke school certificates. I came back the next morning and they had all vanished. Rain Man said that I forgot to save it. "WHAT?" I have been patiently waiting 10 years for Raymond to retire from Louisiana DEQ so I could hire him. He is a fun person to be around and tells great stories. Ask him about the EPA verses Hurricane Katrina. I can tell you that Rain Man is as patient as the day is long and he is born to teach. Raymond is a high motivator. He retired recently after 30 years of service. He was the LDEQ quality control and quality assurance person responsible to make sure everyone crossed all the T's and dotted all the I's to follow EPA guidelines. Rain Man was responsible for the whole 9 yards. He was in control of all the people it takes to fill one building and half the people it takes to fill another building. He was responsible for all of Louisiana DEQ from sea to shiny sea. Do you have any questions about the EPA or the DEQ? Just ax Rain Man. My brain is just a pit of useless information when it compared to Raymond. I am still searching for all the right answers to life's persistent questions.
Paul Liard Crew 1 Classroom Instructor- Chief Cook and Bottle Washer, and my closest friend, and personal spiritual advisor.
This is Saint Paul Laird (Left). We learned our education in the cities of the nation me and Paul. There is only one word to describe Paul, Peacemaker. Blessed are the peacemakers for they are rare and they will inherit the earth. I like to hang around Paul to get rid of the stress of everyday life. Paul is our marketing expert. He also handles the stress sometimes associated with state and federal environmental agencies. Paul also teaches our classroom. Paul retried after 30 years service with the Louisiana DEQ at the Monroe Northeast Regional Office. Paul is a graduate from ULM in Monroe LA. Me and Paul, couldn't get along without him. I trained Saint Paul Laird and Lloyd Blount at my first LDEQ smoke school in 1984. We became instant close fiends for life. They are like my other brothers. I am very proud that they have also retired from LDEQ and are now my right and left hand men on the Whitlow team. Jason Bennett- Crew 1 operator: Jason is a former rodeo cowboy, a wild life movie protectionist, a pilot, and a plant manager. You may have seen him at his dog shows. This is my other Brother Joe. Joseph Cardinal is our Son, Aaron's birth father. Aaron has always been very close to Joe. After Angie and I married and moved from Indiana back to my home town in Louisiana, Aaron missed daddy so much it affected his grades in school. I missed my daddy and mother a lot when I was in the Air Force. There was not much I could do about it, until I resigned after 13 years after daddy had his second heart attack. I could do something about Aaron's problem if I swallowed my pride and tried to do what Jesus would do. I moved Joe down here with us. This made a 180 in Aaron's life. Aaron's grades shot up almost immediately and he made the honor roll. For years Joe and I were bitter enemies. Now he is my other brother, Joe. He is mild mannered and meek. Blessed are the peace makers. Joe is a jack of all trades. He takes charge of all the yard work, electrical, carpenter, and plumbing projects that are never ending around the Whitlow Team. Sometimes he travels with Crew 1 and helps set up the equipment and cook. Most importantly, Joe is my hunting and fishing partner. Last year we deer hunted nearly every day of the season from November 4 to January 20. We also got severely lost this summer fishing in a flooded soybean field on a Louisiana Bayou. I am telling you all of this because so many of us have suffered divorce. Our children suffer the most. Whitlow Crew Two Based in Odon Indiana Introducing Dave and Adam Hudson, the father and son team that handles all of the smoke schools in the Midwest and Eastern states. They do a terrific job of keeping everything going to schedule. I always get plenty of complements about their work. I am so fortunate to have them aboard. You will love them. When I don't have them on the road they maintain the family farm where Dave was born in the Indiana Amish Country around Odon. Dave enjoys wood working and just plain piddling. Dave is a for real jock of all trades. He has dabbled in farming, owning a construction business, working at industrial plants, and a prison guard. They have a great welcome easy going personality. I may add, Ladies, that they are both eligible batchers and would be a fine catch in anyone's record book. Don't tell them I said that. I will deny it to my dying days. They are rather meek and shy. ![]() Meet Catherine Lundergan Ph.D. She helps with Dave's classroom when she can get a break from Keyda. Catherine is an Indiana corn farm girl who graduated from Perdue and The University of Arkansas. She is a retired LSU Horticulture Agriculture Professor and she is retired from Louisiana DEQ where she was in charge of giving away money to build sewage treatment plants. Catherine researched and wrote our smoke school classroom work books. One of Catherine's mottos was, "You can take a horticulture but you can't make her think." I think she learned that from Bill Clinton in Arkansas. In addition to smoke school and Keyda, Catherine teaches aerobics at the YMCA, works in a plant nursery and routinely attends the local Catholic Church. Have you had your milk bottle today? |
